Bio
Kiersten Yusi grew up in Connecticut where she trained at The Dance Pointe. Yusi is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who focuses on empowering individuals and creating a safe space for personal growth and gaining confidence through expression. Yusi has toured internationally to Germany and Switzerland with The Ambassadors in Leotards, affiliated with The Dance Pointe senior dance company, in 2014, 2016, and 2018. She raised money for a non-government funded school for children with disabilities called “Lebenshilfe” in Southern Germany through the tour performances. Yusi obtained her BFA in dance performance and choreography at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the spring of 2021 where she studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, and hip-hop techniques. Throughout her time at UMass Amherst, she has performed in multiple senior theses involved with the Alive with Dance program at the University of Massachusetts along with developing and presenting choreography of her own. She has also presented her work on social media and plans on furthering her performance and teaching career as well as her choreographic craft in New York and Connecticut.

Beauty lies within the expression of the beholder.

Oftentimes, my creative process emerges from an unspoken voice. Tapping into natural instincts in the spur of the moment is when I discover most about myself as an artist and communicator. As I continue to undergo my spiritual, artistic, and creative journey, this malleable voice inside of me will continue to develop and mold the path. towards creative success as a storyteller.

I find theatrical production elements enhance the story that is being told. The stimuli coinciding with instinctual decision-making, all while challenging dynamics, are all things that challenge me while being inspired to a melodiousness accompaniment, or lack there of I am most intrigued by bringing permanence to work that can translate on camera, using multiple perspectives and capturing instincts within the feel of the moment.

I am driven by the ideas of empowerment and confidence as I strive to provide others with the tools to discover the artistic voice of their own. This development is key to opening the doors of endless possibilities. Exposing our vulnerabilities will reveal our uniqueness that differs us from others. In that, there is an abundance of stories that can be told from the self and that voice we have deserves to be heard.
